We are excited to announce our upcoming conference on "Bilingualism and Intercultural Dialogue: 21st Century Trends and Challenges." This interdisciplinary conference aims to explore the dynamic landscape of bilingualism and its crucial role in fostering intercultural dialogue in the 21st century.
Bilingualism offers many benefits, including more vital cognitive skills, enhanced communication skills, and significant employment opportunities. In our increasingly globalized world, intercultural dialogue has become essential for building mutual understanding and cooperation.
We invite researchers, educators, and practitioners from diverse backgrounds to submit their papers and join us in this intellectually stimulating exchange. Together, we will delve into the challenges and opportunities presented by bilingualism, technology, literature, and their role in promoting intercultural dialogue in our ever- changing world.

Proposed Theme Sessions
In this session, we invite scholars to present their latest research findings and insights into the ever-evolving field of bilingualism. Topics may include language acquisition, cognitive benefits of bilingualism, sociolinguistic aspects, and the intersection of technology with bilingual education.
Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Project-Based Learning (PBL) have gained prominence in bilingual and multilingual educational settings. This session welcomes papers that explore innovative approaches, best practices, and case studies related to CLIL and PBL within these contexts, shedding light on their effectiveness and impact.
This session focuses on pedagogical strategies, curriculum development, and best practices in teaching foreign languages to young learners. Share your insights into creating engaging and effective language programs for children.
Explore the profound influence of technology on language education. Present your research on integrating digital tools, online platforms, and emerging technologies in foreign language instruction.
Delve into the rich world of literature as a powerful tool in foreign language education. Share your experiences and research on incorporating literary works into language instruction and the pedagogical theories that underpin these approaches.
This section will explore the contemporary challenges of teaching French language and literature to students with various backgrounds and motives.
This section will explore the integration of Ukrainian-speaking students into national education systems, creating language courses in national languages for Ukrainian-speaking students, and promoting Ukrainian-national bilingualism. Additionally, we will examine the state of Slavic studies and contemporary issues in the instruction and acquisition of Slavic languages.
This theme session will explore the unique challenges and opportunities faced by students with special needs in foreign and second language education. We plan to discuss a range of topics, including:
- Identifying and assessing the needs of students with special needs;
- Developing effective teaching strategies and materials for students with special needs;
- Creating an inclusive learning environment for all students;
- Supporting students with special needs in preparing for and taking high-stakes language assessments.

The program is being organized at the Leo Tolstoy Educational and
Methodological Center for Bilingualism. We welcome applications from those interested in leading open lessons, delivering masterclasses, or presenting educational and methodological literature related to bilingualism, mainly if authored by the applicants themselves.
Please note that there is a participation fee of 25 euros for the program taking place on March 23rd.
